Angela ( ) here, I'm Justin's girlfriend, here to update an old journal with some news Justin would be quite happy about.



Phoenixtear.com has been updated! ( www.phoenixtear.com ) Using a template that Justin had started working on before he got really ill, Justin's mother and I have re-designed the phoenixtear site. In addition to showcasing some previously unseen photography of Justin's, there is also new work from his mother, Cookie. I know Justin would have done a much better job on the redesign, he knew far more about web design than me, but I am very glad we were able to take what he had envisioned and make it a reality. New work from Cookie will be periodically updated there, as will the front page as needed. Prints can also be ordered, see the contact info on the front page. I hope you will enjoy seeing the new site.


Although one year ago today Justin passed away, that in no way means his wonderful spirit and talented artwork will fade away. He was truly gifted, and now his work is showcased on his site the way he intended.

Rest In Peace Sweety. I love you so much and I know you are in a better place now watching over me, just over my shoulder. You'll be in my heart. Always.

To those of you who don't know me, I am Angela, Justin's girlfriend. I would like to let everyone know that Justin passed away this afternoon after a life-long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. He leaves a remarkable legacy of his photography, costuming skills, and most importantly his charming and infective personality.
He was at peace when he passed away, he has been battling an infection and just couldn't keep fighting anymore. He has spent most of his life fighting, and now I am sure he felt completed or he would not have given up his fight.

I remember a conversation Justin and I had a long time ago, I asked him what he wanted to be remembered for most. He said he just wanted to be remembered. I of course told him it was
insane that anyone he had touched in his life would ever forget him.

I would like to let everyone know that we will be having a wake for Justin on Saturday, January 26, at Southern Heritage on 119 in Pelham.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Some charities Justin supported include: Make a Wish, National Wildlife Federation, Magic Moments and Tigers for Tomorrow in Alabama.

I think Justin's mom and stepdad Cookie and Steve might continue to keep the Phoenixtear name alive and offer prints of Justin's work, as well as new images taken by them as they were students of his wonderful talent.

Merry Christmas!!

Starting a bit early on the New Year post, but I figure, why not? It's on my mind so I thought I would share a few thoughts.

I'm hoping & praying that things will be getting better with me enough so I can resume taking pictures. I'm also hoping to begin adding Prints to my account. I have a print account and don't even use it. On the topic of prints, I'd like to say THANK YOU to whom ever purchased a print from me a few days ago.  Thank you so very much.  It is my first sold print on dA!

I have new Credits to add to my portfolio and will provide photos of them once I get them . They include another 6ft banner and 2 photos in a magazine!
